Here is my contribution to the festival: Flickermood – a fluid motion graphics piece containing lots of sweetly animated contortions of type synced to a cool recycled retro funktrack by Forss (Sonar Kollectiv).
I got inspired by the great music from Forss, so I started working on this project – kinda very spontaneous creative reaction. I did all the animations with AfterEffects and good ol' Helvetica (yep, I got shaped by Swiss graphic design). Have a look at it – also... >

Kindernoiser is a realtime animation that even if it doesn’t weight more than 4 kilobytes of data (what is approximately the same as this text you are reading right now) it was a sufficiently good platform to express myself during that very convoluted time of my life. Therefore Kindernoiser was more of a necessity than a regular project, more of an improvisation than a performance where one plans in advance what the viewer should see.

The idea come from a long work. At the begining, I wrote a script about a man who want to meet god to ask him something like "why life is so difficult". It was a 12 min film long, but honnestly, it need more time to explain that kind of subject.
With the help of Buf Compagnie, I start to work on the storyboard, then the animatic and a long shot of 1 min where the 2cv (the priest car) drive across the forest. At the end of 4 months of hard working, I realise that the film will be boring and... >

This shortfilm tells a story inside a computer. The files live there inside their folders, worried about the mighty great arrow, because it can take them one day and eliminate with no mercy. They don´t know who controls the arrow, it´s a kind of god for them. Somehow, the life of the files it´s like ours, controled by a system that we don´t understand. The main character is McAfee, an antivirus cop who controls the emails searching for dangerous virus.

Yes my friends, as well as you read, there is a new short again this side, it's called CU4TRO and has been the fastest short I ever made. I'll tell you, I'm a professor on javeriana university in Bogota, I teach Classic Fiction, and I put an foley and orchestral counterpoint video exercise on Tuesday.
