Pablo Calvillo was born in Malinalco, a small, ancient town in Mexico where
nature is still a fundamental part in everyone's life and growing process.
In 2003, he started his BFA in the Animation Program at the California
Institute of the Arts. There, he finished several short films combining
different visual mediums such as 3D Computer Animation, video, film and
traditional 2D animation. He's currently completing his final semester and
directing his thesis project entitled, "Mandorla," which combines live
action and 3D computer animation. He's worked and interned in several
studios in Mexico, the Czech Republic and the United States. He's won
several awards and scholarships and his work has been featured in several
film festivals
