In a dark and empty room, a neon lamp suddenly comes to life and desperately tries to break free from its place on the ceiling. It succeeds at tearing itself down but finds that it is still attached to the wall with its cable. It starts to pull frantically on the cable and its efforts to get free of this last obstacle become more and more desperate.
This 3D-Animation was done entirely in Maya. The stark black and white contrast was very important for me. I wanted to give the lamp, one of the most profanely inanimate objects one can think of, the feeling of a caged animal and show its growing despair.
