Alexandra Kardinar and Volker Schlecht founded their collaborative label Drushba Pankow
2002 in Berlin. They work together as Illustrators, Graphic Designers and Filmmakers.
Together they’ve studied communication design at the Burg Giebichenstein University of
Art and Design Halle, and years later both have teached at the animation department of the
HFF Konrad Wolf Potsdam-Babelsberg. Since 2006 Kardinar teaches as a Professor of Illustration
at the Georg Simon Ohm University Nuremberg, Schlecht is teaching Illustration at the Berlin
Technical Art College (BTK-FH).
Drushba Pankow won several awards for their illustrations and their book design work,
for instance the European Design Award (Gold) for the book „The Soul Of Motown“ in 2010.
Their animated short films were shown and awarded on many international festivals,
especially „Germania Wurst“, but also the earlier works „Nothing else“ and „Pink street“.
