Handed down through centuries, zinga is a brazilian term that describes an efficient navigation skill used by natives to propel their boats upriver - at the stern, the oar is moved from side to side in a way that creates an effect resembling a propeller and moves the boat forward. It also describes the unique brazilian way, ''jogo de cintura'', to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.
