Eckhard Kruse studied Computer Science in Braunschweig, Germany (and for one year in Pisa, Italy). In 1998 he obtained his Ph.D. in the area of robotics and computer vision. Since 2000, he is living in Heidelberg, where he is working as project manager and sub-department manager in the area of industrial software technologies. Eckhard Kruse published several short stories and the interactive literature project 'Text-O-Mat'. Since 2004, he is making short films, which have been screened at numerous film festivals.
