Richard Veenstra is not an ordinary composer, he likes sounds like snrfff or kgkkkk. He likes to create exciting rhythms or strange musical spheres and soundtracks. And all those ideas he likes to put in music for films, tv and other media, remixes, electronic compositions or otherwise.
Being mainly an electronic composer, Richard has written autonomous pieces as well as pieces on assignment, such as ‘Sym-biosis’ for the Hermann Hesse festival in Switzerland. He composed soundtracks for various short films and has also worked on audiovisual installations. In 2006, he has composed dance music for a children’s theater show called ‘Koest!’ and has written tunes and the main theme for the ‘Gala van de Nederlandse Dans’.
Richard writes for Dutch musician’s magazine Interface, does live performances and is involved in production/remix-duo Sonic Me and the Chromakey Ensemble. Richard lives in Berlin, Germany.
